The Bay Area is my favorite place in the world besides Taipei. The stunning nature, the food, the wine. This year I decided to make a list of my must-dos in the Bay Area and check them off one by one. I think that collectively it’s a good snapshot of why the Bay is so great. Here we go —

1. Oysters at The Boat Oyster Bar at Hog Island Oyster Farm in Marshall and exploring Point Reyes Station

2. Hiking at Stinson Beach and oysters at Parkside Cafe

3. Wine tasting in Sonoma. Favorite wineries: Ram’s Gate, The Donum Estate, Kunde or Hamel Family Wines

4. Wine tasting in Napa/Healdsburg. Favorites: Prisoner, Quintessa, Flowers. On my list this year: Kenzo Estate, Joseph Phelps, Jolie Laide, Silver Oak.

5. Glamp at Mendocino Grove and explore Mendocino

6. Russian River float trip and Lagunitas brewery tour

7. Sea Ranch and Gualala escape

8. Hiking around the Bolinas Lagoon and visiting the cute town of Olema

9. Big Sur roadtrip and staying at a cozy inn at Carmel-by-the-Sea

10. Kayaking in Sausalito and pizza at Bar Bocce, followed by drinks along the water.

11. Hiking in Tiburon and clam chowder and oysters (sense a theme?) at Sam’s Anchor Cafe.
